EGROW Foundation has constituted a Shadow Monetary Policy Committee of academicians, practioners and financial market specialists.

Shadow Monetary Policy Committee (SMPC) will present views on monetary policy and the direction of interest rates on December 4 2018. The SMPC aims to transparently discuss the interest rate scenario considering economic conditions within the country amidst the context of global situation. The aim is to build and contribute to the debate on macroeconomics and monetary policy by a set of economists thinking independently on these issues. The objective of this exercise is also to provide inputs to the officials involved in policy making, after extensive discussions and deliberations.

SMPC will meet regularly every two months, a day before the monetary policy is announced by the RBI. Accordingly, as the next Monetary Policy is to be announced by the RBI on December 5, SMPC will meet on December 4, 2018.
