Abstract

Tripura’s economy is primarily driven by the service sector, followed by agriculture and industry. In 2022–23, the state’s GSDP at constant prices was ₹640 billion (US\$7.6 billion), marking a 10.38% growth over the previous year. The projected GSDP for 2025–26 (at current prices) is ₹1,00,795 crore, reflecting a 10% rise over the revised estimates for 2024–25. However, the state faces structural challenges such as geographical isolation, limited infrastructure, and persistent poverty and unemployment. In recent years, efforts have intensified to address these issues through targeted investments and policy interventions. The panelists in this webinar will deliberate on Tripura’s evolving development strategy, focusing on the government’s key investments in infrastructure, agriculture, and social sectors to promote inclusive and sustainable growth.
