About the Speaker

Amitabh Kundu

Professor Amitabh Kundu is a Senior Fellow with the Sustainable Cities and Transport program at WRI India.

Dr. Kundu has been a Distinguished Fellow at Research and Information System for Developing Countries. He was Professor and Dean of the School of Social Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University, a member of National Statistical Commission and chaired the Post Sachar Evaluation Committee and that for estimating Urban Housing Shortage. He was Regional Adviser on Poverty at UNESCWA, Beirut and Consultant to Sri Lankan Government on Population Census.

Currently, he is chairing a committee to monitor the national survey, being conducted for Swatch Bharat Mission for the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation. He was Visiting Professor at the University of Amsterdam, Sciences Po and Maison des Sciences de L’homme, University of Kaiserslautern and University of Wuerzburg. He was Director at various institutes in India and is in the Editorial Board of a large number of national and international journals. He has about twenty five books and two hundred research articles, published in India and abroad, to his credit.

M.P. Bezbaruah

Madhurjya Prasad Bezbaruah is the Former Professor and Head, Department of Economics, Gauhati University. He is also an Expert, EGROW Foundation. He has also held several positions till date viz Member of ICSSR from 2017-2020, Director in the board of Assam Power Distribution Company Limited, Member of the RBI Committee on Financial Sector Plan for NE Region chaired by Usha Thorat, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India, Director in the Board of Directors of the Assam Industrial Development Corporation from 2001 to 2005, Member of the Advisory Committee for Preparation of Human Development Report, Assam 2013. He has 6 books, 63 papers in journals, 28 articles in edited volumes.

C.L. Dadhich

Dr. C.L. Dadhich is the Honorary Secretary of Indian Society of Agricultural Economics since 2006. During his long outstanding career spanning over three decades with Reserve Bank of India, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development and National Dairy Development Board he was associated with a number of working groups and committees appointed by Planning Commission and Government of India. He provided services on the Board of Dot Co-operation LLC, Washington, D.C. from 2004 to 2008. As a consultant of World Bank and Rural Credit expert of Reserve Bank India he visited a number of Asian, African and European countries to help development banks and other research and financial Institutions. He is the author of books titled “Overdues in Farm Co-operative Credit” (1977) and “Management Through Folk Wisdom”. Since November 2014, Dr. Dadhich is also Editor of Indian Journal of Agricultural Economics.

Lt. Gen. R.S. Reen (Retd.)

Lt. Gen. R.S. Reen (Retd.) is a distinguished Indian Army officer, notably serving as the Director General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) in the Ministry of Defence, focusing on defence indigenization and export, and previously holding high command/staff roles like Deputy Chief of Army Staff (IS&T) and commanding various formations, an alumnus of NDA and Royal College of Defence Studies, known for expertise in Quality Assurance, Six Sigma, and Defence Management. He has done certification in Reliability Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur and is Qualified Lead Auditor in Quality Management System & Integrated Management System from Bureau Veritas, Bengaluru.

Dilip Chenoy

Mr Dilip Chenoy is Chairman, Bharat Web3 Association. Mr. Chenoy has had an illustrious career serving as the Secretary-General of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Director-General of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), and Deputy Director-General of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). With decades of experience in leading domestic industry bodies, Mr. Chenoy is a renowned figure in the policy domain and his expertise and contributions have been invaluable to the Indian business landscape.

Ajit Pai

Ajit Pai is Strategy Lead Partner, Government and Public Sector, at EY’s Strategy and Transactions Group. Previously, he was Distinguished Expert, NITI Aayog, where he headed Economics & Finance and oversaw Public Disinvestment and performance of Central Public Sector Enterprises. He was also Consultant to the Vice Chairperson of NITI Aayog, the nodal officer for the Ministry of Finance, its subsidiary departments, and handled matters related to the World Bank, IFC, IMF, ADB, NDB, OECD, and the G20. Mr. Pai is also Chairman, Delhi Urban Art Commission (DUAC), a statutory body created by an Act of Parliament in 1973, to advise the Government of India in the matter of preserving, developing and maintaining the aesthetic quality of urban and environmental design. Prior to this, he had a career in the private sector including working internationally at firms like McKinsey, Lazard, Thomas Weisel Partners and Stifel Financial, the latter two as Managing Director. Mr. Pai holds a B.Arch. from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, a M.Arch. from the Yale School of Architecture and a MBA from the Yale School of Management. He attended Yale University as a Tata Scholar and also served as a John M Olin Fellow for research in markets and regulatory behavior.

Kuldip Kaur

Kuldip Kaur is a Professor at the Punjab School of Economics, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Punjab, India. She has extensive teaching and research experience in industrial economics and Indian economic problems. Kuldip Kaur has published 93 journal articles, 21 conference papers, and 15 book chapters, and she is also worked on 12 research projects. She is a Life Member of Indian economic association, Indian Society of Agriculture Economics, Indian Society of Labour Economics and Indian Society of Regional Economics.

Indu Varshney

Prof. Indu Varshney, having 29 years of teaching experience, is Professor in economics department of Dharma Samaj College, RMPS State University, Aligarh. She served as the Treasurer of the Indian Economic Association for 9 years and currently holds the position of General Secretary. She is the Executive Chairperson of the Socio-Economic Development and Research Institute and the Managing Editor of Sawas Journal. Additionally, she serves as the Joint Secretary of the Indian Economic Research Institute. Prof. Varshney has participated in numerous seminars and conferences and organized 10 national and international seminars sponsored by UGC, ICSSR, and the Uttar Pradesh Government. She is a member of the National Executive Committee of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch and the International Goodwill Society of India.

Prof. Varshney secured the first position at the postgraduate level at the university. With 29 years of academic experience, she has mentored 8 researchers and guided 5 postdoctoral fellows. She has edited 11 books and published 25 research papers.

Indraneel Bhowmik

Indraneel Bhowmik is Presently Professor & Head, Department of Economics, Tripura University. Earlier he worked as Reader, Dept. of Economics, Tripura University from 29th April, 2009 to 28th April, 2012 and Worked as Assistant Professor in Economics at various Degree colleges under the Government of Tripura. He has completed his Phd in Economics from Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan

Rajeshwari U.R.

Rajeshwari U.R. is working as Associate Professor in the Department of Economics, Christ University . She is a recipient of Nandan Nilekani Fellowship and RBI Scholarship.She is Member In Professional Bodies, Karnataka Economic Association and Board of Studies, BASE, Bangalore. Her research interest lies in the area of Public Finance, Development Economics and econometrics. Rajeshwari U.R contributes valuable insights to the industry. With a robust skill set that includes Report Writing, Excellent Analytical Skills, Policy Analysis, Academic Program Development, IPR and more.She is a Gold Medalist from Karnataka University.

Rajesh Singh

Rajesh Singh, based in Delhi, India, is currently a Additional Director and HOD -Department of Banking and Financial Services, ASSOCHAM at ASSOCHAM (The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India). Rajesh Singh brings experience from previous roles at ASSOCHAM (The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India) and TSG. Rajesh Singh holds a 2015 - 2019 Doctor of Philosophy - Ph.D in Management & Commerce @ JJTU.
