As traditional employment models evolve, concerns over job security, income inequality, skills mismatch, and social mobility continue to grow. This webinar explores the changing nature of work, the emerging opportunities and risks for middle-income households, and the policies needed to ensure inclusive and sustainable economic growth. Further it will also discuss the future workforce trends, reskilling strategies, digital transformation, and social protection measures to strengthen resilience and secure prosperity for the middle class.

Short Bio

Ajit Ranade

Dr. Ajit Ranade is an Economist and Former Vice Chancellor of Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics in Pune. He was earlier Group Executive President and Chief Economist with the Aditya Birla Group. His thirty-five years’ career has spanned both academia and corporate assignments. He has served on various committees of the RBI, including the Committee on Fuller Capital Account Convertibility. Dr Ranade is a member of the executive committees of apex industry chambers. He is a Trustee of Pune International Centre.

Dr. Ranade holds a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and a management diploma from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and a PhD in Economics from Brown University. He received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from IIT Bombay in 2009. He writes in the business press on economics and current topics. He is a co-author of an award-winning book “Rising to the China Challenge” (2021).

Saurabh Mukherjea

Saurabh Mukherjea is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Marcellus Investment Managers. Saurabh was educated at the London School of Economics where he earned a BSc in Economics (with First Class Honours) and an MSc in Economics (with distinction in Macro & Microeconomics). In London, Saurabh was the co-founder of Clear Capital. Prior to setting up Marcellus, Saurabh was the CEO of Ambit Capital. Saurabh is a Founding Director of the Association of Portfolio Managers in India, a trade body. He continues to be part of multiple SEBI working groups whose role is to review and reform the rules governing portfolio management in India.

Nandita Rajhansa

Nandita Rajhansa is an economist and a small and midcap analyst at Marcellus Investment Managers, where she has been working for more than five years. She has co-authored a national bestseller, Behold the Leviathan (2024).She completed her BA in economics from Fergusson College, Pune, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Economics from Meghnad Desai Academy of Economics in Mumbai. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
