PUBG Ban: I expect all Communist Chinese apps to be banned, says ex-CEA
The ban on Chinese apps sends a very clear message to China that it cannot continue its creeping acquisition of Indian Territory and expect to continue its asymmetric trade & investment policy with India, former economic advisor Arvind Virmani says.
India on Wednesday banned 118 more Chinese apps, including popular multiplayer game PUBG. The government cited data privacy concerns behind its decision, which came amid fresh tensions between India and China earlier this week at Pangong lake area.
In June, India had banned 59 Chinese apps including popular video platform TikTok following a similar face-off at Galwan Valley, which resulted in the killing of 20 Indian soldiers.
