Balbir Kaur was advisor in the Department of Economic and Policy Research, Reserve Bank of India, where she was working on real sector as well as structural and fiscal issues. Before that she was with the External Debt Management Unit of the Department of Economic Affairs at the Union finance ministry. She also has served as Banking Ombudsman for Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh at the Chandigarh office of the Reserve Bank of India.
