Chiranjiv Singh
Chiranjiv Singh is a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1969 Karnataka cadre and former Ambassador of India to UNESCO, Paris. He retired in 2005 as Development Commissioner of Karnataka and Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Karnataka.
During his career, he held several senior positions in both the Government of India and the Government of Karnataka, including Principal Secretary (Finance and Agriculture), Secretary (Culture and Tourism), Director General of the Administrative Training Institute, Mysore, and Director of Mines and Geology. He also served as Additional Director General of Tourism, Government of India, and held assignments related to defence establishments in the Ministry of Defence.
He has been associated with academic and professional institutions such as the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, and the Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bengaluru. He was awarded the Rajyotsava Award by the Government of Karnataka in 2005 for his services.
Since retirement, he has been active in various initiatives related to rural development, environment, and culture. He is currently President of Alliance Française, Bengaluru.
