Dr. G. Mallikarjun is a legal professional currently practising in Courts and Tribunals at Hyderabad. He previously served as Director and Group Head – Compliance and Chief Compliance Officer at Religare Enterprises Limited (Apr 2023–Jan 2025), overseeing compliance across its financial services businesses.

He has extensive experience in financial regulation, having worked with NABARD, RBI, and IRDAI in areas such as banking supervision, NBFC regulation, insurance regulation, grievance redressal, and policy development. He voluntarily retired as General Manager (RBI) in 2017 and later engaged in teaching, research, and legal consultancy.

He holds a Ph.D. in Law from NLSIU Bangalore, LLM from Mumbai University, and LLB from Government Law College, Mumbai, along with a background in agricultural sciences. He is also a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India and a Certified Associate of IIBF.

He has significant academic experience, having taught and designed programmes in banking, finance, insurance, and law at various institutions, and has contributed to training, research, and professional legal education.
