Moumita Das is a PhD from Maastricht University, Maastricht, The Netherlands. She works on how socio-cultural meanings are attributed to health, and how this translates into sharply different habits and patterns of health-seeking behaviour among urban slum dwellers. She has worked in Enterpreneurship Development Institute of India and has taught Sociology in the Department of Masters of Social Work as a visiting faculty in Mahatma Gandhi Labour Institute (MGLI), Ahmedabad.
