Richard Koss
Richard Koss is Chief Research Officer at Recursion Co, a leading bigdata mortgage FinTech company based in New York. At Recursion Koss is responsible for delivering solutions to a wide variety of investors, lenders, servicers and government agencies using Recursion’s cutting-edge technology platform. From 2016-2018 he was Adjunct Professor at the Carey School of Business at Johns Hopkins University and from 2015-2017 he was Visiting Scholar in the Research Department at the International Monetary Fund, and Director of the IMF Global Housing Watch. Previously, he was the Director of Economics with the Economic and Strategic Research Group at Fannie Mae and their key spokesperson on the global business and economic environment, with an emphasis on secondary market developments. Prior to joining Fannie Mae, Koss spent over 20 years in senior positions on Wall Street, most recently as Senior Vice President and Director of Global Investments at Brown Brothers Harriman. Prior positions include Senior Advisor to the General Motors financial staffs and Staff Economist at the Council of Economic Advisers under Chairman Alan Greenspan. Koss is the past Chairman of the Conference of Business Economists and a member of the Economic Club of NY. His research interests are US housing finance policy, financial markets, and global real estate with an emphasis on India and China. Koss received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and his B.S. in Mathematics and Statistics from Case Western Reserve University.
