Financial Sector and Viksit Bharat @2047

Read the Event Report

India is steadily ascending to become the world’s third-largest economy, propelled by the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision for Viksit Bharat @ 2047—a developed nation by its centenary of independence. This ambitious national mission is a collective endeavour, with both central and state governments actively contributing. The country has demonstrated remarkable economic resilience, consistently reducing poverty and sustaining robust growth even amid global challenges. India’s GDP grew by 6.5 percent, with per capita income reaching USD 2,880 in March 2025. To achieve developed nation status by 2047, this income must rise to at least USD 17,000, necessitating a sustained 8 percent annual growth for the next two decades. Historical precedents from nations like South Korea and China affirm the feasibility of such a rapid transformation, and India’s favourable demographic window until 2047, presents a unique opportunity.
